Although employment is declining in many states, Georgia being one of them, certain companies will assuredly have openings, and even in some cases, companies which are currently experiencing a down sizing and need to lay off workers, will have those positions that it is necessary to fill.

Projections for the Georgia workforce  state, (via Georgia Workforce Trends Reports) that between now and 2012, Georgia’s total employment is projected to increase to about 4.9 million jobs, which is about a seventeen percent increase over what it is now.
The three areas which will lead that growth are said to be service providers, such as professional and business services, healthcare and social assistance, which will account all together for more than half the new business growth which Georgia predicts. The only position which is a goods producer that is projected to grow and is in fact growing now, is the construction industry.

Utility jobs too are expected to decline by about one percent, which, while not a big decline is still significant if you were to place yourself in that position currently, since it is projected to continue to decline in Georgia.

Education areas are also projected to grow in jobs and prosperity, so if you’re seeking employment in the state of Georgia currently, based upon the predictions of those in the know, the best place for you to lay your educational dollars may be, health care, education positions such as teaching and the construction industry, which are all projected to grow and continue to experience growth for several years.
